WHAT IS YOGA FOR LARGER BODIES?

Yoga for Larger Bodies is a body-affirming yoga practice designed for folks of every size, shape, and ability. If you have ever felt too intimidated to enter a yoga studio due to your body size or felt that yoga wasn't designed for your body, then this class series is for you.

Join us for a weekly gentle yoga practice in a supportive community, with the intention of helping you find a yoga practice that works best for you. You'll explore variations of yoga poses and learn how props can support your practice, guided by an instructor with experience teaching yoga for larger bodies, along with personal lived experience in a larger body. No previous experience required, this class is perfect for beginners!

Over the last 4 years, our community has grown into a wonderful group of kind, supportive yogis, plus we have a lot of fun, too! In addition to our weekly yoga classes, we plan social gatherings each quarter to celebrate birthdays, and recently started a book club.

Yoga for Larger Bodies is offered as a 6-week series on Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Yoga Center Retreat in St. Louis Park. Can't make it to all the classes in the series? No worries, at the end of each series, there is a free makeup class if you miss a class. Want to check out the class before committing to a series? Join us for a drop in class to see what it’s all about.

What My Clients Say

“I am allergic to "exercise," but I'm 66, and know that I need balance and strength. I found Mary by accident and went to her Chair Yoga class and was pleasantly surprised at how good it felt. Went to the second class and I was sold! The neuropathy in my feet responded positively - never had that happen with drugs!

Mary, is knowledgeable and skilled - both in yoga and with people."

Slow down. Feel good.

I’d love to provide you with a safe, supportive

feel rather than how you look.
